New blog on the History of Sephardic Congregation Mikveh Israel in Philadephia, PA
Mikveh Israel is
the oldest congregation in the US and the Jewish Community in Philadelphia is the second
oldest in the country. The goal of the blog is to provide articles on
the people and events of Mikveh Israel over the past few hundred years.
Mikveh Israel and its members helped shape the Jewish community in
Philadelphia and the rest of the country, and established the
educational and charitable institutions that set the example for social
responsibility in all communities. The blog is now on its sixth article, which is about Abraham Sulzberger and the Jewish Hospital. Check it out.
